One day before Portugal confronts Brazil in an international friendly, Brazilian superstar and current holder of the Ballon Dór, Kaka, has stated that Cristiano Ronaldo is the favorite to win this year´s much sought after prize.

“If Cristiano Ronaldo wins the Ballon D’Or it will be fully deserved,” he said. “But he’ll have to wait until December. He deserves it, for everything he did with Manchester United and the victories he obtained with this team, in which he was a fundamental player.

Kaka´s statement is obviously less biased than Henry´s recent claim that teammate Messi should be the winner of this year´s Ballan Dór, and we concur that the winner should be Cristiano Ronaldo.

Henry, the Barcelona striker has publicly stated that Messi is a better player than Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Messi is the best. What he does is from another world. He is exceptional,” said Henry.

“After watching Arsenal against Manchester United, I insist Cristiano Ronaldo is one thing and Messi is another. There is no comparison. Messi deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this year.”

Henry’s statements are obviously based on bias and nothing else.  To come to this conclusion after watching one game, as he said, is an absolute insult to football, footballers and football fans.

The Ballon Dór is given to the season´s best player.  There shouldn´t be any doubt in anyone´s mind as to who had the better season last year.

Cristiano Ronaldo´s stats were leaps and bounds ahead of Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo helped Manchester United win the EPL and the Champions League title last year.

Barcelona finished third in La Liga last season with 67 points, ten points behind Villareal and 18 points behind Real Madrid, who won La Liga last season.

As a tribute to his dad, Cristiano decided that he wanted to receive the award in his native land of Madeira, Portugal.

The Awards Ceremony was covered by media from the four corners of the earth, along with Cristiano´s family and friends.

His ever growing collection of gold and silver may soon become bigger, as he is a clear favorite to take home the highly sought after Ballon Dór, which is given to the World´s Greatest Player.

Ronaldo´s competition will probably be the usual suspects of Messi and Kaka.
