Reports from the Manchester United camp have the Reds accepting a world record transfer offer from Real Madrid to the tune of  £80million.

This offer acceptance from Manchester United clears the way for Cristiano Ronaldo to speak to Real Madrid.

“At Cristiano’s request – who has again expressed his desire to leave – and after discussion with the player’s representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player. Matters are expected to be concluded by 30 June.”

We bid Cristiano farewell from Manchester United and are ready to support the football star at Real Madrid.

The goal itself was spectacular, a screamer which went flying past Porto goalkeeper and into the back of the net.  His goal was the only goal in the game which gave the Reds the victory.

One day before Portugal confronts Brazil in an international friendly, Brazilian superstar and current holder of the Ballon Dór, Kaka, has stated that Cristiano Ronaldo is the favorite to win this year´s much sought after prize.

“If Cristiano Ronaldo wins the Ballon D’Or it will be fully deserved,” he said. “But he’ll have to wait until December. He deserves it, for everything he did with Manchester United and the victories he obtained with this team, in which he was a fundamental player.

Kaka´s statement is obviously less biased than Henry´s recent claim that teammate Messi should be the winner of this year´s Ballan Dór, and we concur that the winner should be Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United opened the score with a trademark Cristiano Ronaldo free kick at the 4 minute mark of the game.

The game was a no contest as United handed their opponents a  5-0 drubbing.

Cristiano Ronaldo would set up one and score another with a minute left in the game from yet another free kick.

Reports coming out of England on Sunday November 2, 2008, suggest that Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to pay £150,000 per week to keep Cristiano Ronaldo playing for the Red Devils until 2014.

Ronaldo is currently under contract with Manchester which pays him £120,000 per week until 2012, but could buy out his contract at the end of the season according to Fifa´s new rules.

Ferguson has stated that he wants Ronaldo to remain at Old Trafford,  and has reportedly instructed Manchester United brass to work on a new deal to keep Ronaldo playing for the Reds for the next several years.

Ferguson has also stated that he believes that Cristiano will probably equal his goal output from last year.

Cristiano Ronaldo led Manchester United to victory by scoring two goals.

Manchester United were sailing to victory in the first half by scoring three goals to Hull City´s one.  Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring and later in the first half would add another to put United up 3-1 at the 45 mark.

United added another in the early stages of the second half to make it close to impossible for a Hull comeback, However, the feisty Hull side refused to give up on the game and added another two in the second half, making the score 4-3.

Time would prove to be too much for Hull City, and the game ended in victory for the Reds.

Former Manchester United, and current Real Madrid player, Gabriel Heinze has spoken out on comments made by United boss, Ferguson, that Heinze was being used as a pawn by Real Madrid to later sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

In an interview given to GQ Magazine, Fergie claimed that Real Madrid did not sign Heinze because of his footballing skills, but rather because Heinze was `very close`to Ronaldo.

“I knew what they were doing,” said Ferguson. “I don’t believe they were interested in Heinze – good player though he is. The endgame was to get Ronaldo.”

“I knew it was coming,” he said. “When we sold Gabriel Heinze to Real Madrid we knew it was going to happen because Ronaldo was very close to Heinze.”

The Argentina international was not pleased with the remarks given by Ferguson, and felt that he needed to speak out on the matter.

“I do not understand this,” said Heinze. “This theory of Ferguson’s… that I went to Real so the club could persuade Cristiano [to sign] the following summer, is a work of absolute science fiction.

“Cristiano is a clever person and he decides himself what is best for his own life. I am a very good friend of his. This is true, but he always decides his own future. If he asks me a question about Real, then of course I will answer but I am not a bad influence on him.”

Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be getting closer to being at a 100%.  His form against West Brom on Saturday October 18, had specks of brilliance which were so familiar to his fans last season.

As most Ronaldo fans know, he had surgery on his right ankle in the summer, and isn´t yet at the game form that he wants to be.

Ronaldo however scored his third goal of the season versus West Brom on Saturday.  His fans, undoubtedly are awaiting many more.

Cristiano Ronaldo will return to international play this weekend, as Portugal takes on Sweden in a World Cup Qualifier.

Cristiano Ronaldo has not been in the Portugal camp since the Euro Cup earlier this year.  He makes his return to the Portugal squad to find a very familiar face at the helm, former Manchester United assistant coach, Carlos Queiroz.

Portugal lost their last qualifier versus Denmark, and need to get back on track versus Sweden. Sweden, however, will not be an easy opponent.  Sweden and Portugal are slated to fight for the top two spots in their group.

The addition of Ronaldo into the lineup should give Portugal an added boost in their search for a much needed victory.
