The Portuguese National Team face Albania in a World Cup qualifying game on October 15.  Portugal sits third in their group with four points. Denmark is first with seven points, and Sweden is in second place with 5 points.   Albania sits fifth in the group.

Cristiano Ronaldo played well in his first game back into International play versus Sweden.  That game ended in a 0-0 draw, but Portugal had plenty of scoring opportunities, including several opportunities by Cristiano Ronaldo. Cristiano did not play in Portugal´s first two world cup qualifying games due to ankle surgery he had earlier this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo is recovering from ankle surgery ahead of schedule, and may be back on the pitch in early October.

Sir Alex Ferguson has said that “There has been no problem, his progress has been great. He has never missed a session morning or afternoon. We are penciling him in for the beginning of October.”

“Cristiano has been doing excellently. He is well ahead of schedule. The specialist was surprised the condition he was in.”

“The next three weeks he will have rehab and then the next part will be endurance work and serious running before he goes into the football side with us.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s recovery from ankle surgery is progressing well, according to reports coming out of Portugal, where Ronaldo’s physiotherapy is taking place.

If everything goes according to plan and Cristiano continues to progress, it shouldn’t be too long before we see Ronaldo in a similar position as in the image above.

Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo attended the ESPY Awards in Los Angelas, and once again captured the attention and the imagination of tabloid media.

During his stay in California, British tabloids continued their demonization of Ronaldo, by reporting that the Young football player had been partying at a nightclub by spending 12 thousand euros on liquor, intoxicating himself and parting with his crutches to dance.

Cristiano Ronaldo took offense to the fabricated reports, and has reportedly instructed his lawyers in Portugal and England to take action on the false, and professionally destructive news reports.

Ronaldo’s lawyers told media that the Los Angelas reports of intoxication, are ‘false and absurd’, since Cristiano does not consume alcohol.  They went on to say that Cristiano’s physiotherapist, António Gaspar, accompanied Ronaldo to California, and that his recovery from ankle surgery is progressing well.

Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he will not Return to Manchester on August 5th, which is the date that the English Champions had inked for Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo, who has been recooperating from ankle surgery, will return to Holland on Thursday to be re-evaluted by his surgeon.

According to  Portuguese tabloid 24 horas, Cristiano Ronaldo has broken up with Nereida Gallardo.

The break-up took place prior to Cristiano’s ankle surgery in Amsterdam.

According to rumors, Cristiano Ronaldo was tired of seeing lurid newspaper articles about nereida and decided to part ways.

Other reports have Cristiano’s mother not being very happy with the Spanish model and accusing her of being a gold digger.

There have been reports that Cristiano Ronaldo may miss the start of next season due to his recovery from his impending ankle surgery which is expected to take place next week. Some are obviously wondering if it will be the start of Real Madrid’s season which he’ll miss, as transfer speculation continues to grow, however Manchester United remain adamant that Ronaldo will be wearing a Red Devil’s shirt next season.

Confirmation of Cristiano’s surgery was announced on Saturday, after a second opinion confirmed what had already been accepted by both United and Portugal doctors.
