It seems that rumors connecting Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid will never die. The latest has Cristiano Ronaldo forfeiting a whopping 20 million dollars if he does not join up with Real Madrid next season. As the story goes, Cristiano Ronaldo, with assistance of agent Jorge Mendes, is said to have signed a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid worth about €100 million. It is said that if Cristiano Ronaldo does not join up with Real Madrid then Cristiano may be sued by the club for 20 million for breaking the contract.
At this time, the only possibility that Real Madrid won’t sue will depend on whether or not Florentino Perez wins presidential elections, and therefore not pursue Cristiano Ronaldo. If that is the case than a mutual agreement to nullify the contract would be set in progress.
Although Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the world’s richest athletes, 20 million is no drop in the bucket and if the rumors are true, we may yet see Cristiano Ronaldo heading for Real Madrid next season. Here’s hoping that he stays at Manchester United
