During a game versus Newcastle in February at St. James’ Park, a coke bottle was thrown at Cristiano Ronaldo after the celebration of a goal by the young Portugal International. The bottle missed Ronaldo and the fan disappeared into the crowd, but that didn’t stop police from catching up with the delinquent.
The referee picked up the bottle and handed it over to police who ran DNA tests from saliva found on the coke bottle.
Tony Heslop, 18, was tracked down by Police after his DNA matched a sample given by Heslop for a prior car theft. As a result, the man has been banned from grounds in England and Wales for three years and was ordered to pay £155 for costs.
