George Best set the record of 32 goals for a Manchester United winger during the 1967-68 season.
George Best scored a total of 178 goals in 466 appearances for the Red Devils…
During the March 19 game versus Bolton, Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally was 83 goals in 227 appearances.

im glad ronaldo beat a record so far. an article you posted in this website, i think it was an interview, said that he felt bad that he beat best’s record. in that same article, ronaldo was told he bet some guy hed make 15 goals, or something like that. do you know if he bet money or something similar to that?

We too are glad of Ronny’s accomplishments. Surpassing George Best’s Records, which stood for so many years unchallenged only re-affirms Ronny’s stature as the best football(soccer) player today.
As for the bet, it is widely reported that it involved £400 or about $791. It was a bet made with manager Sir Alex Furgeson to score 15 goals in last years 2006/2007 season, which Ronny did so easily.
Ronny, when asked about the bet, is quoted as saying:
“It was only a joke really - £400. I don’t need the money but I made sure I got it.”
Ronny’s the best.
