Blast From The Past: The Nike ‘Stand Up Speak Up’ Campaign

In 2005, Nike introduced a great football (soccer) campaign to combat racism in the sport. The ‘Stand Up Speak Up’ campaign was introduced to the public in February of that year, and included many participants from the football world. Each country involved in the ‘Stand Up Speak Up’ campaign had one or more players representing their country. Cristiano Ronaldo, Jorge Andrade and Luis Scolari were the representatives for Portugal.

Nike created a football jersey which was half black and half white, with each country having their crest on the front of the jersey.

Below is a photo of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Nike jersey.

We have also included the official Nike video of the Stand Up Speak Up campaign.
